Restrict the use of noisy fireworks in Northern Ireland

We're calling for action against excessively loud fireworks in Northern Ireland and the introduction of tougher restrictions to protect our pets.

Why is this important?

For thousands of pets across Northern Ireland, the run up to Halloween is terrifying.

Every year, dogs are left shaking, cats hide in fear and animals become so distressed by the loud bangs of fireworks that they try to escape, and many go missing.

Right now, politicians at Westminster are deciding on whether to change the law to restrict the availability of noisier fireworks to the general public, making them available only to professional users. They’re also considering making this change should apply all over the UK, including in Northern Ireland. But to do this, they need to know that we want this change.
