No hate speech on our streets
Everyone deserves to live free from fear and harassment when going about their daily lives. Belfast City Council must act to stop those using hate speech targeting the LGBTQIA+ community and other groups on our streets.
Why is this important?
The news is full of the horrendous incident at Belfast Pride when a group made abhorrent comments about and to the LGBTQIA community. In 2022, Belfast City Council was reported to be bringing bye-laws forward to counter this, but nothing has come forward yet. This needs to be acted on immediately.
