Stop data centre expansion in Coleraine

Reject any expansion of the Coleraine data centre onto publicly owned land at Atlantic Link. Our public land should be used for the benefit of local communities, not handed over for the expansion of energy hungry data centres.

Why is this important?

Swiss technology company Eryce has bought the existing data centre in Coleraine, with reported plans to expand its operations onto surrounding land.

And now, up to 12 acres of publicly owned land could be used to make that expansion happen.

Data centres consume huge amounts of electricity and water, putting pressure on resources we all depend on. In the Republic of Ireland, data centres consumed 23% of all metered electricity in 2025, up from just 5% a decade earlier.

Our public land should be used for the benefit of local people, not handed over to multinational technology companies.

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council controls the publicly owned land at Atlantic Link and can refuse to lease it for further data centre expansion.

We’re calling on the Council to reject any expansion of the Coleraine data centre onto publicly owned land.
